Golden State Warriors Make Roster Move After Loss to Pelicans

The Warriors have announced a roster move following their New Orleans Pelicans loss

The Golden State Warriors suffered a blowout loss to the New Orleans Pelicans in their last game, falling by a final score of 141-105. This came after a similarly disappointing loss to the Toronto Raptors, as Golden State dropped consecutive games at home without even being competitive.

Following their latest loss, the Warriors announced that Gui Santos has been sent back down to the Santa Cruz Warriors. The team's statement read the following:

"The Golden State Warriors have assigned forward Gui Santos to the team's G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, it was announced today. In 19 NBA G League games (all starts) with Santa Cruz this season, Santos is averaging 14.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 28.4 minutes per game. He has appeared in five games with Golden State, averaging 3.0 points and 2.2 rebounds in 6.4 minutes per game. The Santa Cruz Warriors host the South Bay Lakers this Saturday at Kaiser Permanente Arena, tip-off is a 7:00 p.m. (PST)."

Santos played 10 minutes in Golden State's blowout loss to the Pelicans, missing all three of his field goal attempts. As stated by the team, Santa Cruz will face the South Bay Lakers on Saturday, and Santos will likely play in that game. Not needed at the NBA level right now, Santos will continue to get reps in the G-League.
