Raptors Coach Makes Viral Steph Curry Comment

In this story:
The Toronto Raptors are currently sitting at 11-18 on the season, which has them outside of the Eastern Conference playoff picture. As rumors circulate about whether or not Toronto will finally enter a full rebuild, head coach Darko Rajakovic is also facing questions about how they can best optimize the current roster.
Speaking with the media recently, Rajakovic was asked if Toronto has struggled enough for him to alter lineup combinations and rotations. Admitting that the Raptors are looking at everything, Rajakovic added that they do not have Steph Curry sitting on their bench, so this is not a situation with an easy fix.
“It’s not like we have Steph Curry sitting on the bench.”

This comment has gone viral, because it is not only funny, but also controversial. While nobody is questioning that Toronto does not have a Curry-level talent that is being underutilized, such a comment from a head coach could rub players the wrong way. This has been the concern of some fans who have reacted to the video, which is understandable.
While not everyone loved this comment from Rajakovic, he also has a point about Toronto's roster. Stuck in mediocrity for several years, the Raptors seem to be regressing even from that already low standard of being a middle to bottom-tier playoff team.
Now on the outside looking in at the playoff picture, the Raptors are looking internally at their options, but also recognize there is no Steph Curry coming to save them.
