Warriors Announce Roster Move After Celtics Game

The Golden State Warriors have recalled Gui Santos

The Golden State Warriors announced on Friday evening that the team has recalled Gui Santos from the Santa Cruz Warriors. The announcement comes after the Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in their last game, and prior to their upcoming game against the Washington Wizards.

Santos has played very little at the NBA level this season, even in games he has been active for. The team has primarily kept him in the G-League to get valuable reps with the Santa Cruz Warriors, while still having him available at the NBA level when scheduling allows.

The Warriors are coming off of a big win over the Celtics in their last game, and will now be facing a team at the other end of the Eastern Conference standings. The Wizards have been one of the worst teams in basketball this season, but the Warriors will still have to approach this game with the appropriate level of focus.

It's worth noting that Andrew Wiggins is questionable for this game against the Wizards, which could be part of why the team decided to recall Santos. This is not to say Wiggins will not play, or that Santos would even get minutes in the event he was out, but it is always good to have insurance options for situations like this.

The Warriors and Wizards will tip-off at 7:00 PM PST.
