Warriors Announce Roster Move After Win Over Clippers

The Golden State Warriors have assigned Gui Santos to the G-League

Following their win over the LA Clippers, the Golden State Warriors announced that Gui Santos had been assigned to the G-League Santa Cruz Warriors. In their announcement, the Warriors wrote the following:

"The Golden State Warriors have assigned forward Gui Santos to the team's G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, it was announced today. Santos is expected to play in Santa Cruz's game against the Rip City Remix tonight at Kaiser Permanente Arena (7 p.m. PST tipoff). In five games (all starts) with the Santa Cruz Warriors this season, he's averaging 14.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 28.4 minutes per game. Santos has appeared in two games with Golden State, averaging 2.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 6.0 minutes per game."

Santos has gone up and down from the G-League to the NBA quite a bit this year, and as the Warriors stated in their announcement, he is expected to play in Santa Cruz's game against the Rip City Remix on Friday night. Golden State has done a good job of getting Santos and others with the G-League team when there are opportunities to play, as the development of players like Santos is more important than having them with the big club on an off day.

The Warriors will play the Clippers in LA on Saturday, so Santos could be recalled for that game, but it's also possible he remains inactive.
