Steph Curry and Chris Paul have had a lot of battles over the years, with Curry winning most of them. Facing off with Paul three times in the playoffs, Curry has eliminated him twice, with Paul winning once with the LA Clippers in 2014. Curry referenced this series with some incredible trash talk during the Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns game on Monday night, reminding Chris Paul that it isn't 2014 anymore.
The Clippers and Warriors went seven games in 2014, with the Clippers outlasting Golden State in an incredible Game 7. That series is still the last time Golden State lost in the playoffs before the NBA Finals, as they went on to win four of the next eight titles. Throughout that time, Chris Paul has remained without a championship.
Since that 2014 playoff series, Steph Curry is 14-8 vs. Chris Paul in the regular season, and 2-0 vs. him in playoff series. It was perfect trash talk from Curry on Monday night, as he scored on Paul and reminded the veteran point guard it's no longer 2014.
While Curry got the better of Paul in their individual matchup, the Warriors also took care of Phoenix as a team. Picking up another home victory, Golden State moved into a tie with the Clippers for 5th place, and will head to LA for a crucial game against them on Wednesday.
