BREAKING: Warriors' Decision on Dwight Howard Revealed

In this story:
It was reported on Thursday that Dwight Howard's meetings with the Golden State Warriors had concluded, and the veteran big man was expected to work out with Warriors veterans. Photos from that workout also surfaced on social media, so things seemed to be progressing towards Howard joining the team.
In a new update from Shams Charania of The Athletic, it was revealed that the Warriors will not be signing Howard - or another veteran big man before training camp. Charania did not shut the door on the possibility of Golden State revisiting the idea of signing Howard or other bigs, but said the team wants to maintain flexibility throughout camp.

While this slows the momentum on Howard to Golden State, it doesn't end the possibility entirely. It makes sense for the Warriors to maintain flexibility with a lot of potential movement to happen around the league between now and opening night. Players that are not currently available could become available before the season begins, which is why it makes sense for the Warriors not to finalize their roster just yet.
For Howard, Charania said he is expected to talk with other teams and maintain his options while the Warriors maintain their options. This feels more like a pause than anything else, but Howard to the Warriors is indeed on hold for now.
