BREAKING: Warriors Sign Intriguing New Player

In this story:
It was announced by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Golden State Warriors are finalizing a three-year deal with 21-year-old forward Gui Santos. Selected 55th overall by the Warriors in 2022, Santos has been playing for their G-League affiliate, and now lands a multi-year deal.
In his report, Wojnarowski wrote, "ESPN Reporting with [Kendra Andrews]: Golden State is finalizing a three-year deal to sign Brazilian F Gui Santos. Santos was the 55th overall pick in the 2022 Draft and has been playing for Santa Cruz of G League. Deal’s expected to be completed in coming days."
Santos is an intriguing player who played for Brazil in the 2023 FIBA World Cup over the summer, and played with the Santa Cruz Warriors last season. In 26 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors last season, Santos averaged 12.7 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 2.1 APG on 50% from the field. At 6'8" and 209 lbs, Santos has some size, which the Warriors can always use.
While it's unclear what Golden State's future plans are for Santos, it's clear they value him within their organization, and have made a deal to keep him around for the next three years. As Wojnarowski noted, the deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days, which should provide some clarity as to what the Warriors are hoping to do with this move.
