Chris Paul Gets Honest About Facing Suns

Chris Paul is set to make his Golden State Warriors regular season debut on Tuesday night, and it will be coming against his former team. Facing the Phoenix Suns for the first time since being traded, Paul got honest about what that will be like.

"It's crazy," Paul said. "Me and Book, we're so close. It's gonna be like that for life. Obviously he's been on my team for the last three years, so it will be interesting playing against him for the first time. But I'm sure after the first couple of minutes, it'll be like it was when I was in OKC, in Houston, and all that before. But it definitely should be fun."

There is still no official word on whether Paul will start or come off the bench in his Warriors debut, but he should play heavy minutes for a Warriors team that brought him in to be a major contributor. The Warriors will need even more from Paul with Draymond Green out, as the team is losing a major defensive and playmaking presence in his absence.

The combination of Chris Paul and Steph Curry looked great in the preseason, but this is of course a much bigger challenge in the regular season. Facing a Suns team that many believe can come out of the West, the Warriors will look to show they can beat anybody.
