Injury Update: Andre Iguodala 'Close' to a Return

The Golden State Warriors have been without veteran forward Andre Iguodala for their last seven games, as the former Finals MVP has been dealing with persistent knee swelling dating back to the beginning of the season. Iguodala addressed the media on Thursday morning, and said that he is close to a return.
On what has caused the extended absence, Iguodala said that the knee swelling from the beginning of the year caused other issues to creep back up, which created this chain of events that has led to him missing extended time. While Iguodala doesn't play major minutes for the Warriors, he is still a leader on the court when healthy.
In Iguodala's 513 minutes on the court this season, the Golden State Warriors have a dominant +9.9 net rating. Their defense really thrives when he is out there as well, holding opponents to just 95.9 points per 100 possessions with Iguodala on the court. As previously mentioned, he does not play a ton, but the Warriors are really good when he is on the floor.
Because Golden State has so much depth and youth, there is no rush for Iguodala to return. As was the vision when they signed him, his biggest contributions were always going to come in the playoffs. When healthy, he will help the team win games in the regular season; however, getting him healthy for the playoffs seems to be the team's primary concern.
