When Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray tore his ACL, Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson was the first person to show him encouragement. According to Murray, Thompson shared a moment with him in the X-ray room, which is something that still means a lot to the Nuggets star.

Speaking with the media on Sunday, Murray spoke on this powerful interaction, and how much it meant coming from somebody like Thompson who was going through his own injury recovery.

"The first person that reached out was Klay [Thompson] in the X-ray room. That meant a lot to me, that helped me a lot," Murray said. "Understanding that from the get go it was gonna be a long journey. Just seeing his face in that moment, and you could tell he was still recovering from his injury, he was still hurt. Mentally it just helped me a lot."

Just as Thompson did last season, Murray is on the verge of winning a championship after recovering from a major injury. Amidst a historically great playoff run, Murray has absolutely regained his pre-injury form. While the Nuggets guard already had an impressive playoff resume, the sustained consistency throughout this run has been even more impressive than what he had accomplished prior to this season, and it's a huge reason why the Nuggets are one win away from an NBA championship.
