Report: Warriors Expected to Approve Gary Payton II Trade

In this story:
A four-team trade that sends Gary Payton II to the Golden State Warriors, James Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons, Saddiq Bey to the Atlanta Hawks, and Kevin Knox to the Portland Trail Blazers is expected to be completed on Sunday evening. The trade suddenly became in jeopardy once Gary Payton II failed his physical, but ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported that the Warriors are expected to still complete the deal.
ESPN Sources: The four-team trade, held up by Golden State’s concern over Gary Payton II’s physical, is tracking to be completed today. Deal allows Payton II (Golden State) James Wiseman (Detroit), Saddiq Bey (Atlanta) and Kevin Knox (Portland) to join new teams.

According to Wojnarowski, Golden State still needs to offer their official approval, but there is optimism that the deal will be completed before today's deadline. The Warriors are also expected to pursue disciplinary action for the Portland Trail Blazers, as Golden State believes they withheld relevant medical information on the condition of Payton.
Even if Payton is sidelined for several weeks or months, it still makes sense for the Warriors to go through with this deal. There is no place for James Wiseman in the rotation, and retaining him would cost the team a ton of luxury tax money. If Payton can return before the playoffs, he projects to have a role. Even if he cannot return in time to contribute this season, he is under contract for next season as well.
This is a very unfortunate situation for the Warriors, but it seems as if they are expected to finalize the deal before this evening's deadline.
