Steph Curry Gets Honest About Chris Paul's Role on Warriors

While the Golden State Warriors are excited for Chris Paul's contributions on the court, his impact on their young players projects to be equally as important. According to Steph Curry, who recently appeared on Gil's Arena, Paul has already been working with young forward Jonathan Kuminga.

"Obviously a great leader in terms of his communication," Curry said of Paul. "He's going to get on you, he's going to over-communicate, and we need that. I've already seen him playing pick up, him helping [Jonathan Kuminga], how to help him run the pick and roll, where to be at, giving him confidence in those type of scenarios. That'll help us in terms of trying to be more cohesive. When I'm on the floor, when I'm off, me and Klay [Thompson] being able to run off the ball if CP's running the point."

There are several reasons for the Warriors to be excited about the addition of Paul, even if his game is different from how they usually play. From a veteran leadership standpoint, Paul has a solid track record of helping younger teammates in their development, and Curry spoke openly about the impact he's already made in that role.

As Curry also mentioned, Paul's ability to handle the ball will allow Golden State's shooters to stay in motion off the ball, which is anther key role the veteran point guard will play. Additionally, Paul should help the Warriors take care of the basketball better, which is one of their most glaring weaknesses that needed to be addressed.
