Steph Curry Makes History With Monster Game vs. Pelicans

In this story:
Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry turned in his second 40-point game of the season on Monday night, exploding for 42 points vs. the New Orleans Pelicans. Curry made history with this performance, tying Karl Malone and Elgin Baylor for the 4th most 40-point games in NBA history by a player at least 35 years old.
With Curry having two 40-point games in his first four games of the season, there is reason to believe he will tally several more this year, and climb even further up that list. Now with three 40-point games since turning 35, Curry trails only LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most such games in NBA history for a player his age.
Curry will tie Abdul-Jabbar on this list with his next 40-point game, which would pull him within six of Michael Jordan and eight of LeBron James. At this pace, there is reason to believe Curry could at least catch Jordan this season, and maybe even James if he himself is not adding to his own tally.
It has been a monster start to the season for Curry, who continues to outdo himself on a nightly basis. With this monster performance vs. New Orleans, Curry made a bit of history, tying Malone and Baylor for the 4th most 40-point games by a player at least 35 years old.
