Steve Kerr Gets Honest About Warriors' Issues Outside of Steph Curry

In this story:
Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry is averaging 30.7 PPG so far this season, but his highest-scoring teammate is Klay Thompson averaging 16.1 PPG. Thompson is doing this on a career-low three-point percentage, so he has not been good so far this year. More alarming than the the PPG averages of Curry's teammates, is their inability to create anything on their own.
Speaking with reporters after Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr got honest about Golden State's struggles outside of Curry, saying, "No question, we need some scoring and some playmaking from elsewhere. We gotta keep plugging away and we'll go from there and see where that takes us."

While Golden State's roster was very flawed last season, both Thompson and Jordan Poole averaged over 20 PPG, which gave the Warriors additional scoring outside of Curry. Even the 17.1 PPG Wiggins averaged a year ago would be second on the team right now. It's reasonable to assume that players like Wiggins and Thompson will improve their play at some point, but there also needs to be serious questions asked about the viability of this roster when it comes to the ultimate goal of competing for a championship.
Steph Curry will always put his team in the championship mix, but when looking at the NBA's current landscape, it's clear Golden State's current production outside of their superstar point guard is not good enough.
