The Golden State Warriors take on a Western Conference rival in the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, and the Warriors will be getting back Al Horford after missing him on Monday against the Grizzlies.

The Warriors have gotten off to a strong 3-1 start to the season, with big wins over the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, and Memphis Grizzlies as they assert themselves as major threats in the league once again. The Clippers have had a similar start, sitting at a 2-1 record, despite the absence of Bradley Beal due to injury.

The Golden State Warriors will be missing only two players: De'Anthony Melton and Alex Toohey. The LA Clippers will be missing three players: Bradley Beal, Jordan Miller, and Kobe Sanders.

Horford Coming Back

The Warriors have been playing with the majority of their roster intact this season, though the last two games lacked center Al Horford, who was out due to load management. Horford averaged 24.5 minutes a game in the Warriors' first two games of the season and turned in solid performances coming off the bench, averaging nine points, four rebounds, 0.5 blocks, and 0.5 steals per game.

Horford has since been cleared from the Warriors' injury report and should be activated for Tuesday's game, which would provide a steady backup to Golden State's other big men like Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga.

Horford was one of several acquisitions Golden State made this offseason. The 39-year-old center certainly brings a veteran presence to the Warriors roster with 19 seasons under his belt while still being a reliable option on the defensive end and mixing in some surprising outside shooting. Horford has shot 50% from beyond the arc this season while averaging two three-pointers per game.

Potential Matchups for Horford Against Clippers

Horford's abilities may fly under the radar now, but the veteran represents another weapon in the Golden State offensive arsenal while younger stars like Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski continue to assert themselves. The return of Horford will also be a massive help in contending with the size of Clippers players like Kawhi Leonard, John Collins, Derrick Jones Jr., and Ivica Zubac.

The Clippers have played well, even without Beal in the lineup, and Tuesday's game will be one of the toughest yet this season for the Warriors. While the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs share the top spot in the Western Conference with 4-0 records, Golden State is close behind.
