Wizards Draft Picks Bilal Coulibaly and Tristan Vukcevic Attend First Mystics Game

Wizards new rookies carry on team's tradition of supporting the Washington Mystics

The Wizards recently embarked on a rebuild of their roster that started with trading franchise player Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns

As Inside the Wizards staff writer David Harrison noted, the Wizards have now “traded away Beal, Chris Paul (originally apart of the Suns trade package), and forward Kristaps Porzingis while acquiring Landry Shamet, former Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones, former Celtics players Danilo Gallinari and Mike Muscala, and plenty of future draft capital.”

With the trade of so many key players, the tradition of seeing Beal and other Wizards players at Washington Mystics games seemingly went right along with them.

As previously stated: “There’s always been a special bond between the Washington Wizards and their WNBA counterparts, the Washington Mystics. That started to become evident when Bradley Beal and John Wall were frequently onsite during the 2019 WNBA Finals to witness the Mystics win their first championship. That support continued with Russell Westbrook, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Kyle Kuzma making appearances at Mystics games throughout the past few seasons. When the Mystics took on the New York Liberty on Friday in their season opener in D.C., several current members of the team were on-hand to include Coach Wes Unseld Jr., Bradley Beal, and Anthony Gill.”

Although the Wizards roster has changed dramatically, it appears their newest rookies will keep up the team’s support of the Mystics. Wizards first and second round draft picks Bilal Coulibaly and Tristan Vukcevic were featured on the jumbotron as they attended their first Mystics game on as they took on the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday night.

Coulibaly and Vukcevic are not expected to immediately acquire large roles with the Wizards in their rookie year but it is good to see them infusing themselves in the DC community
