Halftime Update: Washington Wizards Lead The Charlotte Hornets

In this story:
The Washington Wizards traveled to Charlotte to take on the Hornets in the first game of their home-and-home.
A huge second quarter led the Wizards to break out to a 19 point lead and a 65-46 advantage at half.
Washington forward Danilo Gallinari has been on fire with 13 points on 60 percent shooting from three.
Gallinari's playing time has been questioned because of the lackluster defense but its paying off tonight for Wizards coach Wes Unseld Jr.

The Wizards leading scorer is forward Kyle Kuzma with 20 points on 57 percent shooting.
Kuzma continuing his efficient start to the season and he has been a bright spot in a dark start to the season,
Washington is out rebounding Charlotte 25-22 with the game leader being Kuzma with six.
Rebounding has been a disaster so far this year for the Wizards but tonight they're getting great box outs and being physical the running out into their fast pace offense.
The Hornets leading scorer is guard LaMelo Ball who has 17 points 4 assist and 3 rebounds.

The defense for the Wizards has been much improved so far and locked down Charlotte in the second quarter only allowing an outstanding 17 points.

Washington also shot the ball extremely well from three-point land with 10 three's and 50 percent shooting percentage.
Keys to the second half and finishing this game in a victory is continuing to rebound well and to not let the Hornets go on any big runs by keeping the turnovers down and having good offensive possessions.
