Washington Wizards Trail the Atlanta Hawks at Half

The Washington Wizards are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak tonight against the Atlanta Hawks.

Returning home for the second night of a back-to-back the Wizards are trailing the Hawks 70-58.

Washington is shooting the ball well with a team percentage of 52.4.

The Wizards struggled to rebound last game against Atlanta but that was with center Daniel Gafford out.

Tonight, Gafford is back, and you can tell as Washington has had a better effort rebounding the ball, but the Hawks still have an 24-21 edge.

The big difference so far tonight is that Atlanta has forces the Wizards into 12 turnovers and score 12 points off them.

Washinton has also allowed 13 fast break points to their zero.

Wizards guard Jordan Poole was a late scratch due to left ankle soreness, but the scoring gap has been picked up by guard Landry Shamet who has eight points and two three pointers.

Washington's leading scorer is Gafford who has an impressive 12 points.

Towards the end of the half the Wizards closed the gap to three points, but the stingy Hawks responded with a 13-4 run to end the half.

Atlanta's leading scorer is De'Andre Hunter who has 16 points and has hit three shots from long range.

Hawks guard Trae Young has made a big impact on the game as he has a +22 plus/minus.

The keys for Washington to come back in this game and pull of a win is to continue to rebound well and to start controlling their turnovers.
