Jay Cutler on cursing out Mike Martz: 'Things Happen'

Jay Cutler offered no apologies Wednesday for shouting an expletive at Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz during Sunday night's game.

NBC's cameras showed a disgusted Cutler shaking his head as a play was called in, then the broadcast's microphone picked up Cutler screaming, "Tell (Martz) I said f**k him."

"Things happen," Cutler said Wednesday. "I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. It's not a big deal. We're all on the same team and we're trying to win ballgames."

Check out the video of Cutler expressing his frustration with Martz, at about the 20-second mark, below (warning: adult language).

The Bears led Minnesota 23-3 late in the second quarter of Sunday's game when the little dust-up occurred. Cutler had just thrown an incompletion on 2nd-and-7 from the Minnesota 32 with 43 seconds left. The next play -- and presumably the call that annoyed Cutler so much -- was a run by Matt Forte for a yard.

Robbie Gould subsequently made a 51-yard field goal.

“Whether we’re up three touchdowns or whether we’re up three points, a second- or third-down call is as important as any one in the game," Cutler said. "So it is what it is. We’re good. We’re moving on, excited about this week’s game plan, excited to go play in London.”

Wednesday, Cutler also added that he and Martz "were good."

The Bears' offense has been a tough one to figure. Chicago is 10th in the league in points scored at 24.3 per game, but the Bears haven't topped 17 points in any of their three losses -- to New Orleans, Green Bay and Detroit.
