Zach Mettenberger was not one of the five SEC quarterbacks named to the Manning Award watchlist.

ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski has some interesting takes on the quarterbacks in the 2014 NFL Draft class, with his latest rankings sure to raise a few eyebrows. Jaworski gave his updated quarterback rankings on Friday morning, with LSU's Zach Mettenberger coming in the No. 2 spot behind Blake Bortles of UCF.

Mettenberger, who suffered a torn ACL that brought his collegiate career to an end, is followed by Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel of Texas A&M and Fresno State's Derek Carr.

When Jaworski was explaining his decision to place Mettenberger in the No. 2 ranking, he said, "When you watch him on tape, this guy has an NFL skill set."

Jaworksi then said that Mettenberger is "very similar" to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco.

Mettenberger is a larger quarterback who has a big, live arm and the ability to stand tall in the pocket, so the comparison of his and Flacco's physical traits may not be that far off base.
