Jeff Fisher says Rams quarterback Sam Bradford is ahead in recovery from ACL surgery

Sam Bradford compiled a 90.9 QB rating in his six-plus games prior to a knee injury.

Every offseason, we will hear rumblings that a player coming off of a serious injury is ahead of schedule in his recovery, and that is once again the case, this time with St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.

While some players will say their rehab is going well despite the reality of the situation, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher truly believes that his starting quarterback is doing well just six months and one day after his season came to an end with a torn ACL that required surgery.

“You’re not gonna hear a head coach say he has a player on his team that’s not ahead of schedule coming off an ACL. Everybody says they’re all ahead of schedule. But he is realistically way ahead of schedule. He’s working hard,” Fisher said of Bradford, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

“Sam’s in a very good place considering what happened last year. I thought he was off to a great start. Had he stayed healthy his projected numbers could’ve been quite impressive. He’s worked hard through the process, and I would expect him at some point to be throwing in OTAs.”

Bradford will be able to participate in a limited fashion when the team kicks off its offseason workouts today, but if he is able to begin throwing in time for OTAs, as Fisher suggests, it will be a big win for the Rams.
