49ers tight end Vernon Davis plans to attend team's mandatory minicamp

In search of a new deal with the San Francisco 49ers, Vernon Davis skipped the team's voluntary offseason workouts a few weeks ago, a protest that cost him $200,000 in bonuses. This, of course, led to speculation as to whether or not the standout tight end would be at the team's upcoming mini-camp, but Davis recently put those rumors to rest, saying that he would be joining his teammates.
In an interview with CSN Bay Area's Henry Wofford on Thursday, Davis confirmed that he will not forfeit another $70,000 by missing the mandatory sessions at next week's minicamp.
“You know what? I plan on being there,” Davis said. “I plan on being there.”

Davis also addressed his ongoing back-and-forth with the team, making a public move to diffuse some of the tension that can sometimes go along with lingering contract disputes.
“Everything is all cool between me and the Niners,” Davis said. “You know what? It’s not really about my contract. In life, you have to make business decisions, right? The 49ers are always making business decisions, and I’m a business man and I’m an entrepreneur."
