New York Jets wide receiver David Nelsontold the Daily News Monday night at his charity event that for the first time in his career, he is confident the Jets will make the playoffs.

The Jets, who finished last season 8-8 and second in the AFC East, haven’t made the playoffs since 2010.

Nelson, when asked about whether that meant his team could win the Super Bowl, according to the Daily News:

“That’s the beautiful thing about the playoffs: Anything can happen,” Nelson said.

“So I’ll answer that again in (November) when we hopefully clinch a playoff spot.”

Nelson's teammate Demario Davis also expressed his confidence in the team recently on WFAN, saying the Jets are "more than a playoff team," and "not making the playoffs is not an option for us.”
