Report: Cowboys' DeMarcus Lawrence breaks foot, out 8-12 weeks
Dallas Cowboys rookie defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a broken right foot in practice and is expected to miss at least 8-12 weeks, according to a report in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Lawrence was injured during a drill against left tackle Tyron Smith.
“You don't like to see that. You wait and see what it is, but a guy goes down for a little bit, it's not good. But you just have to go on. It's next man up,” Cowboys defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli said.
The Cowboys selected Lawrence with the 34th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and were expecting him to fill a void left by DeMarcus Ware, who signed with the Denver Broncos in the offseason.
