Jon Bon Jovi wrote an open letter to fans of the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, pledging his ownership group's to "make the Bills successful" if the group does buy the team.

The open letter, published Sunday in The Buffalo News, is entitled, "Why We're Bidding on the Buffalo Bills." It comes amid concern that Bon Jovi's group would attempt to relocate the team to Toronto. Last month, a group including Bon Jovi declared they were interested in bidding on the Bills.

From the open letter:

There has been a lot of conjecture, so we think it’s important to clarify our intentions to the fans of the team and people of Buffalo.

Our objective is simple: to carry on the legacy of Ralph Wilson and make the Bills successful in Buffalo.

We are committed to working with the State, City, County and business community to identify the best possible site in the Buffalo area for a new stadium and to then develop and implement a plan to finance and build a state-of-the-art NFL stadium for the loyal Bills fans.

The ownership group featuring Bon Jovi also includes Larry Tanenbaum and the Rogers family. Tanenbaum is the chairman of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which controls the NHL's Maple Leafs and the NBA's Raptors. The Rogers family controls Rogers Communications, the Toronto-based communications and media company. But at no point in Bon Jovi's open letter did he mention his Toronto-based partners.

The Bills are for up for sale after owner Ralph Wilson died in March. Bon Jovi is not the only famous name to come up in the Bills' ownership search: Billionaire Donald Trump has also said that he is considering a bid.
