The Cincinnati Bengals expect wide receiver Marvin Jones to return from foot surgery in early October, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Jones, 24, broke his left foot during Saturday's practice and had surgery to insert a pin in his foot. The Bengals believe he will return for their Week 5 matchup with the New England Patriots.

He finished last season with 51 catches for 712 yards and 10 touchdowns as Cincinnati's No. 2 receiver behind A.J. GreenJones was listed as a starting receiver on the Bengals' depth chart last week.

Cincinnati has a bye during Week 4, so the team expects Jones to miss three regular season games with the injury.
