Pettine is hoping to choose a Week 1 starter as early as Tuesday, the day after the game.

Manziel took reps with the Browns' starting offense on Friday.

The Heisman Trophy winner was reportedly late to a team meeting Monday, but the rookie's mistake isn't said to have factored into Pettine's decision to start Hoyer against Washington.
