The Cincinnati Bengals have signed linebacker Vontaze Burfict to a contract extension through 2017, the team officially announced Wednesday

Last week, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the deal is worth $20 million over four years, starting with $7.6 million this season. The deal was reported to have been agreed upon last week, but a team announcement was delayed and Burfict said Tuesday that he had "no comment" on his contract situation.

Burfict made the Pro Bowl and was named to the All-Pro second team last year, his second in the NFL. In 2013, he recorded 115 solo tackles and assisted on 62 more, and also defended eight passes, recorded three sacks and intercepted one pass.

The 23-year-old originally went undrafted out of Arizona State before signing with Cincinnati.
