Colts' Robert Mathis out for season after tearing Achilles
Monday September 8th, 2014

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Robert Mathis will miss the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles during a personal workout last week in Atlanta, according to a report from Pro Football Talk.

Mathis is serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. The 33-year-old recorded 44 tackles and 19.5 sacks last season. Over 12 years with Indianapolis, Mathis has recorded 111 sacks and made five Pro Bowls.

The Colts, which lost their season opener at Denver on Sunday, host the Philadelphia Eagles next Monday.
