In an interview with a Chicago radio station Tuesday morning, Urlacher said traveling to and from Fox's studios in Los Angeles "got to me quite a bit."

"I wanted to feel retired," he added.

Urlacher joined Fox prior to last season as an NFL analyst after a 13-year professional playing career. He appeared on the network's NFL pregame shows.
