Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romosaid on a teleconference Wednesday that Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt "may be the best player we play all year."

The Cowboys host the Texans on Sunday.

Watt was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday for his performance against the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, when Watt returned an interception 79 yards for a touchdown to go along with five tackles in the Texans' 23-17 win.

Earlier this season, Watt scored a touchdown on offense when he lined up at tight end against the Oakland Raiders and caught a one-yard pass.

An early contender for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Watt has 15 tackles and two sacks this season.

The 25-year-old signed a six-year, $100 million contract extension with the Texans before the season.

Romo, 34, has completed 69.5 percent of his passes this season for 936 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He underwent back surgery at the end of last season.

The Cowboys and Texans are both 3-1 this season.
