New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee Sunday night and will be out for the rest of the season, according to team reporter Dan Salomone.

Paul Schwartz of the New York Post also reports Cruz will be out for the season with the injury. NJ.com's Kevin Manahan reports recovery from a torn patellar tendon typically takes at least 4-6 months.

Cruz leaped in an attempt to catch a potential touchdown pass from quarterback Eli Manning, as the Giants trailed 20-0 in the third quarter of Sunday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was unable to make the catch and stayed down in the end zone until he was carted off the field.

He had 21 catches this season for 321 yards and a touchdown. He had two catches for 16 yards before leaving Sunday night's game.
