Lions WR Calvin Johnson will travel with team to London despite injury
Injured Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson will travel with the team to London, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Johnson has sat out the last two games for the Lions with an ankle injury, including a comeback 24-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. Johnson was also limited in two other games this season with the injury.
The Lions, who improved to 5-2 after defeating the Saints, play the 2-5 Atlanta Falcons at Wembley Stadium this Sunday. Though Johnson will travel with the team, his status for Sunday's game is still uncertain.
Detroit has a bye week after its game against the Falcons, meaning that Johnson would have an additional week to rest his ankle if he sits out against Atlanta.
The three-time first-team All-Pro receiver warmed up on Sunday but ultimately sat out of Detroit's victory.
Johnson has played in five games this season, tallying 348 receiving yards on 22 catches with two touchdowns so far this year. He last played -- albeit in a limited role -- against the Buffalo Bills in Week 5.
In Johnson's absence, receiver Golden Tate caught 10 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown.
The Lions are tied with the Packers for first-place in the NFC North.
