Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said running back DeMarco Murray missed practice on Thursday because of an illness.

Murray played in last Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts despite undergoing hand surgery last week. He participated in practice on Wednesday.

“He is not here today,” Garrett said Thursday, according to dallascowboys.com. “He was here earlier. He is sick so we sent him home.”

Over 15 games this season, Murray has recorded a league-leading 1,745 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Cowboys (11-4) have already clinched the NFC East. They face the Redskins in Washington on Sunday.
