The Chicago Bears are not interested in hiring Rex Ryan, according to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com.

The Bears fired head coach Marc Trestman along with GM Phil Emery on Monday after going 5-11 in Trestman's second season.

Ryan was fired by the New York Jets on Monday after six seasons and a 46-50 record. He has been linked to the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers, and is widely expected to have his choice of head coaching positions.

Ryan has said that he is not interested in any defensive coordinator positions. Before becoming the Jets' coach, he was the Baltimore Ravens' defensive coordinator from 2005-08.

As Florio points out, the Bears have hired former New York Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi as a consultant during their coaching search and it's unclear whether he would recommend Ryan as head coach.
