Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak will remain in Baltimore next season, the team announced Sunday.

Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak will remain in Baltimore next season, the team announced Sunday, one day after a season-ending loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Divisional Playoffs.

Kubiak had been drawing interest from a variety of teams with coaching vacancies, including the Chicago Bears, who were reportedly prepared to make a "major push" to land him.

"It is flattering and humbling to be invited to interview for a number of NFL head coaching positions, and I greatly appreciate these opportunities,” Kubiak said in a statement. “But I have decided to stay with the Ravens.

“This is a special organization and we, like [head] coach [John] Harbaugh says, are building something great. I want to be a part of that and contribute in whatever ways I can.”

Kubiak, 53, was hired by the Ravens before this season after being the Houston Texans' head coach from 2006-13. Previously, he was an assistant in varying capacities for the Denver Broncos from 1995-2005.

The Ravens finished the regular season 10-6, eighth in scoring (25.6 points scored per game) and 12th in total offense (364.9 yards per game).

Against the Patriots on Saturday, the Ravens were either tied or leading until 5:13 remaining in the game, when Tom Brady engineered a 10-play, 74 yard scoring drive. The Ravens led by as many as 14 points in the third quarter.
