NFL threatened to eject Marshawn Lynch if he wore gold cleats

The NFL reportedly threatened to eject Marshawn Lynch from Sunday's NFC Championship game if he wore the customized gold cleats he sported during warm ups, according to Fox Sports.

The shoes, pictured below, were unveiled earlier this week. It's unclear whether Lynch will comply with the league's request.

UPDATE: Chris Egan from Seattle NBC affiliate KING-5 TV has posted an Instagram photo showing Lynch on the field without the shoes.
