Jets hire Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator
The New York Jets announced the hiring of Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator on Tuesday.
Gailey will be introduced at a press conference on Wednesday along with head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Mike Maccagnan, both of whom were hired last week.
Gailey, 63, has been out of football for the past two seasons. He was the Buffalo Bills head coach from 2010-12, and also has NFL head coaching experience with the Dallas Cowboys (1998-99), posting a 34-46 record over five seasons.

Gailey previously served as an offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs (2008), Miami Dolphins (2000-01), Pittsburgh Steelers (1997) and Denver Broncos (1989-90).
The Jets' offense had been run by Marty Mornhinweg for the past two seasons, but finished no better than 28th in scoring and 22nd in total offense over that span.
After going 4-12 last season, the Jets fired head coach Rex Ryan and general manager John Idzik.
