Report: Packers re-sign WR Randall Cobb with four-year, $40 million deal
The Green Bay Packers and wide receiver Randall Cobb agreed to a four-year, $40 million contract, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The move returns Cobb to the Packers, with whom he played the first four seasons of his NFL career. A 2011 second-round draft pick, Cobb has become increasingly productive with each season (save for 2013, when he was limited to six games by a knee injury). Last season, Cobb caught 91 passes for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns, all career highs.

[daily_cut.nfl]Cobb, 25 in August, received six to seven offers on Saturday, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, and turned down "considerably more money" from other teams to re-sign with the Packers.
Cobb made $812,648 with a $1.02 million cap hit last season, the last under his rookie contract.
A year ago, the Packers signed wide receiver Jordy Nelson to a four-year, $39 million extension. Nelson and Cobb, the Packers' top two receivers in 2014, are now under contract through 2018.

The Packers finished last season sixth in total offense (386.1 yards per game) and eighth in passing (266.3 yards). Green Bay finished 12-4, winning the NFC North before losing in the NFC championship game to the Seattle Seahawks.
NFL teams were allowed to begin negotiating contracts with free agents on Saturday. Deals cannot be signed before free agency begins on Tuesday.
