The Jacksonville Jaguars have secured former Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce through waivers, the team announced on Thursday.

Pierce, drafted in the third round in 2012, was released by Baltimore on Wednesday, hours after he was arrested and charged with a DUI in Baltimore County.

Pierce, who will enter his fourth year in 2015, appeared in 45 games in his first three seasons. He has gained 1,334 yards and five touchdowns on 353 career carries. He also has 29 receptions for 164 yards.

Last season, Pierce rushed 93 times for 366 yards and two touchdowns. He has appeared in six games, rushing for a touchdown in 2014, and was a member of Baltimore's Super Bowl-winning team in 2012.

Pierce will join Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart in the Jaguars's backfield. Jacksonville finished last season 3-13 and in third place in the AFC South. In 2014, the Jaguars were 32nd in total points scored and 31st in total yards gained.
