Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said the team does not plan to trade running back Adrian Peterson, reports ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert.

Peterson was suspended for the rest of the season in November by the NFL after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly hitting his 4-year-old son with a switch.

The suspension was later overturned by a judge, but Peterson remains on the Commissioner's Exempt List. "He's under contact and we expect him to honor it," Zimmer said, according to Seifert.

Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, toldUSA Today Sports this week that they "want out of Minnesota." Peterson is owed $13 million in 2015.

Peterson, 30, has played in seven full NFL seasons and appeared in only one game in 2014.
