Report: Johnny Manziel likely to be discharged from rehab soon
Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel could be out of treatment soon, possibly next week, reports the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot.
Manziel played golf while in in Shreveport, La., with his father on Saturday, but is still believed to be in inpatient rehab, reports Cabot.
Manziel entered a treatment facility in late January for an undisclosed problem. Browns head coach Mike Pettine said last month he expects Manziel to be out of rehab in time to participate in the team's workouts that begin April 20.

[daily_cut.nfl]"When he is back, it will be full speed ahead for him," Pettine said last month. "I think he's very anxious at this point.
''Football, it's a back seat," Pettine said. "For his football life to get it where it needs to be, he needs to get the personal life where it needs to be. ... This takes precedence, so however long of time he needs, the football will be there when he gets out."
Before entering treatment, Manziel endured a rocky rookie season. In five games, he completed 51.4% of his pass attempts for 175 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions.
Earlier this week, ESPN's Christ Mortensen reported the Browns might have "moved on" from Manziel.

"I think about 90 percent that they have moved on [from Manziel] in their own minds except that they really don't know who they're going to get when Johnny leaves rehab, which has been an extended stay—a two-month stay," Mortensen said, as transcribed by The News-Herald. "He should be getting out sometime in the first week of April if they're satisfied that he's ready to go out and get into society and that whatever deep-rooted problems that he had has been addressed.
"The bottom line is that Johnny Manziel's future with the Browns has been in question. When they were putting together half of a new offensive staff, Manziel's name barely even came up in conversation."

After quarterback Brian Hoyer signed with the Houston Texans in free agency, the Browns signed 13-year veteran Josh McCown.
Cleveland also holds the Nos. 12 and 19 picks in the upcoming NFL draft.
