Free-agent defensive back Charles Tillman has signed with the Carolina Panthers, the team announced Thursday

Tillman, 34, has played 12 NFL seasons, all with the Chicago Bears. Injuries have limited him to just ten games over the past two seasons. He tore his right triceps in the eighth game of the 2013 season and tore the same muscle in his second game last year.

Tillman has 36 interceptions and 42 forced fumbles in his career. In 2012, his last full season, he was selected to the Pro Bowl after forcing 10 fumbles and scoring three touchdowns on interception returns.

The Panthers won the NFC South last season with a 7-8-1 record and were eliminated from the playoffs by the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round.
