Veteran defensive tackle Kevin Vickersontold NJ.com that he thinks the New York Jets could have the best defensive line in the NFL.

That line will be led by Muhammad Wilkerson, Damon Harrison and Sheldon Richardson, and defensive end Leonard Williams, who the team drafted out of USC with the sixth pick in the NFL draft.

"Definitely the talent is there for us to be the best," Vickerson told NJ.com at a charity golf outing on Thursday.

Harrison also sees the potential in this year's line, saying, "I've been here three years. I think this will probably be the best defensive line we've had as a unit overall, from top to bottom."

Last season, New York was tied for sixth in the NFL with 45 sacks, but ranked 24th in points allowed per game.

Vickerson also told NJ.com that their success during the season will depend on the team's "work ethic and the work [they] put in this time of year."

The defensive tackle, who has previously played for the Titans, Broncos, and Chiefs, signed with the Jets in March.
