San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle will skip the organized team activities that begin Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports. Weddle wants a contract extension, Rapoport adds.

Weddle also skipped the team's voluntary workouts last month, telling the San Diego Union-Tribune "I feel highly, highly disrespected" that the franchise had not begun negotiating an extension.

Weddle has one year remaining on his current deal. He has played every game for the Chargers over the past five seasons and been selected to three Pro Bowls. He was also a two-time first team All-Pro selection.

Weddle, 30, led the team with 91 tackles last season and also broke up eight passes.
