Buccaneers claim TE Tim Wright off waivers

Friday June 12th, 2015

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed tight end Tim Wright off waivers, the team announced on Friday.

Wright was released on Thursday by the New England Patriots, who acquired him last August in the trade that sent offensive lineman Logan Mankins to the Buccaneers.

Over 16 games last season, Wright caught 26 passes for 259 yards and six touchdowns. He caught 54 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns with Tampa Bay in 2013 after going undrafted out of Rutgers in 2013.

The other tight ends on the Buccaneers' roster are Brandon Myers, Luke Stocker and Evan Rodriguez.
