The 2016 NFL Draft will be held April 28-30, the league announced Wednesday.

No location was chosen for the event. The 2015 NFL draft was held at Roosevelt University's Auditorium Theatre in downtown Chicago, the first time the draft had taken place outside of New York City since 1965.

The draft had been at Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan since 2006.

The league also announced other important dates on the 2016 calendar: The deadline for college underclassmen to apply for the draft is Jan. 18, with a list of those players being sent to teams on Jan. 22.

2016 NFL draft primer: SEC

The East-West Shrine Game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., is scheduled for Jan. 23 and the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., will be Jan. 30.

The Pro Bowl is Jan. 31 from Aloha Stadium in Honolulu and Super Bowl 50 will take place Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.

The NFL combine and testing will be held Feb. 23-29 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Free agency and the new league year starts March 15 at 4 p.m. ET, but teams can enter negotiations with agents of unrestricted free agents starting on March 12.
