The Philadelphia Eagles have traded cornerback Brandon Boykin to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the teams announced

Philadelphia will receive a conditional 2016 fifth-rounder for the 25-year-old corner entering the final year of his contract.

Boykin, a fourth-round selection in 2012 out of Georgia, started for the Eagles last season and will join a Steelers secondary depleted after the retirements of Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor. In three NFL seasons, he has 120 combined tackles, seven interceptions and four forced fumbles. He worked primarily in slot coverage for Philadelphia.

Philadelphia added secondary depth through the draft, selecting three cornerbacks in 2015: Eric Rowe (second round), JaCorey Shepherd and Randall Evans (sixth rounders).
