Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charlestold the Kansas City Star that he feels sometimes like he's the LeBron James of football.

Charles, a four-time Pro Bowler, has run for at least 1,000 yards in all but one of his healthy seasons in the NFL. In 2014, he rushed for 1,033 yards and nine touchdowns and added 291 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns. 

“I feel like sometimes, I’m the LeBron of football, especially at my position, because I can do so much,” Charles said.

James, a forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers, is considered by many to be the top player in the NBA. During the NBA Finals in June, the four-time MVP called himself “the best player in the world.”

The 28-year-old Charles ran for a career-high 12 touchdowns in 2013, adding a career-high seven receiving touchdowns. His best career rushing mark came in 2012, when he ran for 1,509 yards on 285 carries. 

Chiefs training camp started on Saturday. Kansas City will open up the 2015 season on Sept. 13 at the Houston Texans
