The Buffalo Bills have suspended offensive line coach Aaron Kromer for six games for his off-season battery arrest, the team announced Sunday.

Kromer will coach during training camp and the preseason but will be suspended without pay for the first six games of the regular season.

Kromer was arrested in Florida on July 12 and charged with misdemeanor battery for allegedly punching a teenage boy on a beach during a confrontation with a group of boys. The Bills placed him on paid leave two days later.

Kromer pleaded not guilty last week and prosecutors dropped the charges one day later. The charges were dropped at the behest of the victims’ parents.

Kromer spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears. He was fired in December and was hired by the Bills in January.
